What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Soccer Referee position at City of Marysville, WA?
Seasonal, Part-time position.
Hours: Weekday evening hours
Open until filled.
The employee is responsible for officiating in scheduled soccer games and programs sponsored or coordinated by the Parks and Recreation Department. A high level of independent judgment is necessary to be a referee. The Soccer Referee is under the direction of the assigned supervisor. All employees are responsible to the Athletic Coordinator.
Examples of Job Duties
- Officiates soccer games as assigned and enforces the rules of play.
- Effectively communicates with coaches, players, parents, sponsors and helps maintain order.
- Maintains accurate time sheets and turns them into designated supervisor.
- Operates ball pumps and whistles.
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Rules of Play standard to the game of soccer and as modified by the City and the ability to enforce such rules.
- Prior experience in officiating soccer games is desirable.
- Must be able to pass a background check required for employees working with minors.
- Experience working with youth is desired.
- Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Parent/School Authorization form required for employees under 18 years of age.
Work Environment
Seasonal or temporary positions are eligible for sick leave accrual at the rate of 1 hour for every 40 hours worked.
