What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parks-Welder position at City of McAllen, TX?
Under general supervision, welder fabricates, repairs, welds, and joins metal components to assemble park equipment, playground equipment, gates, trailers, vehicle racks, brackets, braces, parade floats, custom sports equipment and other miscellaneous equipment or components using welding techniques and metallurgy. Employee uses hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations or seams of fabricated metal products. Welder layout, fits, fabricates, repairs, welds, and joins metal components to assemble structural forms, equipment and/or vehicle components using knowledge and principles of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements. Includes grinding, painting assembling of components to create fully functional systems.
