What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water Plant-Master Electrician position at City of McAllen, TX?
Under general supervision, the Master Electrician assists in the overall completion of all work orders, construction projects, special events, and/or any other electrical assignments pertaining to an electrical request throughout the Water Systems. This position will require the Master Electrician to assist in the design process of any required electrical system, obtain any necessary permits and order parts and equipment as needed. Job will require performing the installation themselves and may oversee the installation process as needed. Master Electrician will also repair faulty electrical systems. This entails using diagnostic tools to test circuits, devising a solution to the problem and completing all the work. This may involve rewiring or reinstalling components. Position also requires performing preventative maintenance to ensure electrical systems are up to date and safe. Must be able to assist other departments, and in addition, this position will require assisting with other duties as assigned.
