Job Description
Under general supervision and procedural control, the Palm View Community Center Receptionist/Administrative Clerk performs responsible and specialized clerical work. Job responsibilities include entering information into computer, using keyboard, preparing correspondence and other documents, copying, proofreading, maintaining electronic and manual file systems, answering phones, taking messages, being knowledgeable in the activities of the center, providing customer service, operating office equipment and assisting with additional clerical functions. The employee will handle cash transactions for admission fees, activity registrations, facility reservations, and programming fees and will work with many different records or forms. The employee receives, and prepares information for further processing or record keeping. Job Responsibilities
1. Performs office clerical and receptionist work, such as, data entry, filing, operating office equipment, and provides general public information about center activities and programming.
2. Provides professional customer service using courtesy, tact and diplomacy.
3. Performs cash handling responsibilities with accuracy and in a timely manner.
4. Collects statistical information and reviews, verifies, proofreads and corrects data, records and forms.
5. Processes, distributes, and files information, records, forms, documents and other information.
6. Maintains a clean and orderly customer checkout area and office work area.
7. Maintains electronic and manual records and files accurately and in an orderly manner.
8. Responds to inquiries in a professional manner providing accurate public information about services.
9. Sorts, routes or files correspondence or forms and maintains master calendars.
10. Assists with special events and community outreach programming when needed.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Minimum Requirements - 1. Job requires an accredited high school diploma or GED equivalent.
2. Job requires one (1) year of clerical or customer service related training or work experience.
3. Job requires a current, valid Texas Class C driver's license.
4. Must be able to work with various software packages including, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office Tools.
5. Must be able to greet the public in a courteous manner using tact and diplomacy.
6. Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Spanish. Physical Requirements
1. Employee works in office environment and on occasion works off-site for special events.
2.Physical demands available upon request. Additional Information
1. This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
2. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
