Public Works Supervisor

Job Summary
The Public Works Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing all public works operations, including infrastructure maintenance, project management, and team leadership. This role requires a proactive individual who can ensure the efficient delivery of services while maintaining compliance with safety regulations and community standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to enhancing the quality of public services.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and carry out public works projects and activities, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Supervise staff, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance and professional development.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to public works operations.
• Monitor the condition of public infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement or repair.
• Coordinate with other departments, government agencies, and community stakeholders to address public works needs.
• Prepare reports on project status, budget expenditures, and operational efficiency for senior management review.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding public works operations.
• Utilize tools tools and equipment needed co carry out infrastructure maintenance and repair.

Requirements

• Proven experience in public works management or a similar role.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff, government officials, and the community.
• Knowledge of relevant regulations and best practices in public works operations.
• Proficiency in using various tools and equipment related to public works maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

This is a full time position with holiday pay, sick leave, vacation, insurance stipend, and PERSI retirement plan.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
