The Recreation and Waterways Branch deliver places, facilities, programs and services that connect our communities and support them to lead a healthier, more active life. The City of Melbourne directly manages the Melbourne City Baths (MCB). This facility offers a wide range of services and programs to members and the general public, with the aim of delivering high quality aquatic and recreation experiences to improve the health and wellbeing of the community through active participation.
As part of the role, the Swim Teacher will be required to teach group, private and school swimming lessons in a flexible roster environment at Melbourne City Baths. You will be joining a motivated team of Swim Teachers who are passionate about what they do! Swim Teachers with a weekly permanent shift receive free gym membership for Melbourne City Baths.

What You Will Bring (Key Selection Criteria)
- Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values – integrity, courage, accountability, respect, and excellence.
- Good understanding of personal obligations with regard to health and safety in an aquatic and recreation environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with experience communicating with people from diverse backgrounds.
- An ability to work independently and problem solve.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, set, measure, and achieve specific key performance indicators required for decision making in relation to aquatic education and private swim lessons.
- Demonstrated ability to work with peers and relevant stakeholders in a team environment to achieve set goals.
- Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Qualification.
- Current CPR qualification.
- Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Teacher of Infants and Preschool (desirable)
- Teacher of Adults (desirable)
- Teacher of People with a Disability / Access and Inclusion (desirable)
- Teacher of Towards Competitive Strokes (desirable)
- Pool Lifeguard (desirable)
