The Golf Instructor is responsible for instructing youth at various levels and ages in the fundamentals of golf. Performs a variety of duties including developing lesson plans, preparing materials, instructing lessons and camps, and supervising participants.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Plans, organizes, and implements youth golf lesson and camp curriculum. Provides documented lesson plans to Recreation Program Coordinator. Conducts lessons and leads camps in accordance with established lesson plans one-on-one or in a group setting.Monitors the involvement of participants through attendance and record keeping.Communicates respectfully and promptly regarding class cancellations and changes to the schedule due to inclement weather or course conditions.Maintains professional relationships with participants to instill safety and cooperation.Provides suggestions, ideas and feedback to the Recreation Program Coordinator regarding the improvement and expansion of the golf program.Creates and maintains a positive public image, while being responsible and dependable. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESAbility to demonstrate basic golf skills and techniques.Ability mentor, instruct and encourage participants to improve skill and ability.Knowledge and skill in the organization and supervision of instructional golf lessons.Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and speak in front of small groupsConfidence working alone or with a group of people.
