Building / Plumbing Inspector

CITY OF MENTOR BUILDING/PLUMBING INSPECTOR The City of Mentor currently has a full-time BUILDING INSPECTOR opening in the Engineering Department. Responsibilities include building inspection work for residential and commercial development in the course of construction, alteration, and repair to ensure conformance with existing code and ordinance requirements. The ideal candidate will have considerable experience in the building trades as a contractor, foreman, or inspector. Must be a high school graduate (GED) and possess a valid Ohio Drivers License. Must hold and maintain State of Ohio Board of Building Standards certification as a plumbing inspector. Consideration will be given to interim status. Preference will be given to candidates with multiple State of Ohio Board of Building Standards certifications including but not limited to: (PI), (BI), (ESI), (RBO), (RBI), (PPE). This full-time position includes a comprehensive benefits package, and the annual salary range is $70,000-$94,473 (DOQ).
