SUPERVISION
- General supervision is provided by a Street Supervisor. May direct the work of Equipment Operator I and Maintenance Workers.
- All behaviors comply with the Code of Conduct & Rules of Behavior outlined in chapter 8 of the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Operate a variety of equipment including trucks, backhoes, air compressors, hydro- and jackhammers, concrete saws, rollers, bulldozers, loaders, mud-jack, skid steer loaders and other similar equipment and machinery in conducting maintenance and construction work. Drive as assigned by Supervisor.
- Inspect and restore equipment fluid levels including oil, fuel, water and transmission fluid; verify operational gauges and tires; lubricate equipment as needed; service and adjust as necessary.
- Assist with preparing grades and elevations for project construction; participate in finishing project site concrete.
- Assist with identifying equipment needs for each assigned site; ensure proper materials and tools are available to the project staff when they are needed.
- Maintain and repair a variety of concrete and asphalt materials including City streets, alleys, and utility piping as assigned.
- Collect and complete daily schedules; report all daily work to appropriate supervisor. May assist in the timely, accurate and thorough Performance Reviews for supervised employees.
EDUCATION
Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
EXPERIENCE
One (1) year operating jackhammers, concrete saws, rollers, bulldozers, loaders, mud-jack, backhoes and similar equipment used in maintenance and construction work.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Possession of a valid driver's license.

Possession of a valid Class A Texas driver's license or obtain a Class A commercial driver's license within 90 days of employment as a condition of continued employment.
Failure to obtain a Class A driver's license within 90 days of employment will result in non-disciplinary termination.

WORK SCHEDULE
- Must be available to work 40 hours per week.
- Monday - Friday from 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Overtime and on-call duty as needed.
