Salary: $18.73/hr. minimum - $23.35/hr. midpoint (Depending on qualifications)
To perform skilled work repairing and maintaining all of Park Services equipment including zero turn and multi-deck mowers, weed eaters, blowers edgers, chain saws and other small engines, trailers, tractors and related attachments. To perform preventative maintenance to all equipment and various other duties as assigned.

General supervision is provided by the District Park Supervisor.
- All behaviors comply with the Code of Conduct and Rules of Behavior as outlined in Chapter 8 of the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Diagnose and repair problems with small engines including weed eaters, blowers, edgers, chainsaws and generators. Work will include tuning of carburetors and replacement of parts to bring equipment back to factory specs.
- Repair electrical systems, front-ends, hydraulic systems, starters, and other parts on zero turn and multideck mowers, tractors, trailers, and other park equipment; tune and adjust parts and settings to obtain optimum performance.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all Park Services equipment including oil, hydraulic, spark plug and air filter changes.
- Participate in routine welding, fabricating, and assembly of parts and equipment for a variety of park equipment; to include the usage of specialized equipment.
- Repair various hand tools, shovels, hoes, rakes, loppers, litter sticks, and axes; sharpen various blades and hand tools.
- Participate in checking in and out of park maintenance tools; keep logs and records on activities.
- Pick up and receive park maintenance parts and materials; drive forklift as necessary.
- Coordinate inspections and major vehicle repairs with the general service center; pull up work orders with service center computer.
- Maintain tool room in organized manner; maintain stock of parts and materials, including an ongoing inventory of the tool room and stock items.
- On call duty to respond to service calls during scheduled on call week; and make repairs in the field when possible.
- Maintain work order records with regard to status of repairs, time spent on each repair, and parts replacement/expenditures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED.
EXPERIENCE
Two years of experience performing park maintenance equipment repair duties.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Possession of a valid driver's license.
WORK SCHEUDLE- Monday - Friday; 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- Overtime as needed.
Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:
- making observations
- operating assigned equipment
- reading
- communicating with others
Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include the following:
- lifting and moving heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
- exposure to air contaminants, dirt, electrical hazards, extreme temperatures, high work places, noises, vibrations and toxic materials routinely encountered in equipment maintenance and repair
- walk, climb, crawl, kneel, sit, stand, stoop or lay to perform equipment repair and maintenance duties
- work in temperatures equal to or greater than 75 degrees
- operating assigned equipment.
