Salary: $19.18/hr. minimum - $23.16/hr. midpoint (Depending on qualifications)

To make minor and routine mechanical repairs to a variety of park equipment including playground equipment, athletic lighting facilities, picnic facilities, and other related equipment; to perform preventive maintenance on park equipment; and to perform various other duties assigned. May assist with irrigation repairs as needed.
SUPERVISION
- General supervision is provided by a District Park Supervisor.
- All behaviors comply with the Code of Conduct and Rules of Behavior as outlined in Chapter 8 of the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in city and department attendance policies and procedures.
- Participate in inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical difficulties on park equipment including irrigation systems, playground equipment, athletic lighting, picnic facilities, drinking fountains and other park equipment as required.
- Maintain the park irrigation systems; set irrigation clocks and controls; perform minor repairs including replacing broken heads and repairing minor breaks in the water lines; assist with major irrigation repairs as necessary.
- Replace components such as lighting systems on athletic fields.
- Participate in routine welding, fabricating, and assembly of parts and equipment for a variety of park equipment.
- Remain on-call to respond to emergency situations requiring mechanical repairs to a variety of park equipment, test and adjust water chemistry for swimming pools when needed and or other related problems.
- Drive to and from destinations as assigned by Supervisor.
EDUCATION
- Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
EXPERIENCE
- Two years' experience in one or more of the building maintenance trades
- Experience in park-related maintenance and repair preferred.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Monday - Friday; 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
- Overtime and weekends as needed.
