Salary: $11.57/hr. minimum - $14.17/hr. midpoint (Depending on qualifications)
To assist and supervise the public with usage of various Parks and Recreation facilities. To lead participants in a variety of recreational activities; to supervise the use of equipment and supplies; to enforce the rules and regulations of the Parks and Recreation Department; and to assist in organizing and implementing activities for the recreation program. Light cleaning, custodial duties as needed, and equipment set-up. Staffing positions include Front Desk, Kids Care, Westlake Attendant and Reservation Attendant.

Westlake Sports Center Attendant
Facility Reservation Attendant
Athletics/Aquatics Attendant
- General supervision is provided by a Recreation Supervisor or Recreation Specialist.
- All behaviors comply with the Code of Conduct and Rules of Behavior outlined in Chapter 8 of the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual. Adheres to assigned work schedule as outlined in city and department attendance policies and procedures.
- Unlock and lock facilities for usage for various activities including reservations, programs or as directed by a supervisor.
- Conduct assessments of facilities prior to usage and at the conclusion of events. Complete necessary paperwork and communicate effectively with customers.
- Conduct daily recreational activities such as sports, games, dances, exercise, and arts and crafts classes for elementary school age participants.
- Cash handling receiving, transmitting, safeguarding, depositing and reporting of funds whether cash, check, or other forms of payment.
- Utilize department software supporting recreation programs, collect fees for facility reservation and register participants for programs, leagues, and memberships.
- Maintain inventory control on equipment; maintain an accurate and current listing of users.
- Observe safety precautions; correct minor safety problems; conduct activities in a safe manner; maintain discipline at indoor and outdoor recreation areas.
- Answer phones and greet customers, provide public with information and answer questions regarding facility usage and programs.
- Enforce and adhere to City and Department policies and procedures.
- Assist in completing necessary forms and records including participation cards, attendance records, maintenance checklists and financial reports.
- Required to assist with department special events.
- Work a varied schedule, including days, nights and/or weekends. Hours of operation are Monday - Friday 9 am - 10 pm, Saturday 9 am - 9 pm and Sunday 1 pm - 6 pm.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- No experience required; however, experience in customer service or leading recreation programs is preferred.
- Obtain First Aid and CPR certifications with 90 days of employment.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Sunday through Saturday between 12-20 hours per week. Possible increase of hours if applicant works weekends, special events, reservations, or front desk.
