Nature of Work
Manual labor duties of a semi-skilled nature. Work is performed under direct supervision.
THIS POSITION IS FOR THE GREENSPACE MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT
Illustrative Examples of Essential Duties
- May operate a truck or other automotive equipment
- Makes minor repairs to automotive or other maintenance equipment
- Loads and unloads trucks
- Breaks and replaces pavement
- Performs related work as required
Minimum Requirements
- Six (6) months experience performing semi-skilled manual labor, often under unfavorable conditions
- Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions
- Ability to acquire knowledge and proficiency in the use of common hand tools and mechanical equipment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with other employees and the public
- Shift work includes nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact
- Significant walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, sitting, standing, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to lift heavy objects

- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, coworkers, the press the general public and members of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds regardless of race, religion, age, sex, disability, political affiliation, gender identity or sexual orientation.

- Reports to work as directed during an emergency as an essential employee of the City of Miami Beach.
