What are the responsibilities and job description for the Performance and Scheduling Analyst position at City of Miami Beach, FL?
Nature of Work
This is a responsible technical, planning support, and data management position accountable for the development, implementation and maintenance of project and construction management data through the utilization of various in-house and web-based project management software applications and databases. Position reports to the Department Director or assignee and provides direct support to project managers and the department's management team.
Illustrative Examples of Essential Duties
- Provides functional and management support of related project controls activities including project baseline schedules, critical path analysis, manpower planning and forecasting, progress validation.
- Provides and coordinates the construction planning and scheduling systems, work processes, and reports needed to support the planning, pre-construction, and construction management efforts of the projects.
- Maintains and updates department's in-house and web-based project related databases.
- Maintains current general knowledge of the various projects contracts and issues that may impact project schedules.
- Understands the flow and logistics associated with the delivery of capital projects in the City of Miami Beach.
- Responsible for being in contact with all relevant disciplines throughout project lifecycle.
- Works closely with project managers in developing well-defined and properly sequenced project work activities.
- Efficiently load, monitor, and generate reports utilizing scheduling and project management software.
- Maintains and updates department's Active Strategy performance measures.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in construction management, engineering, or general business administration is strongly preferred, with considerable course work in project and/or construction management, or engineering and related software programs.
- Other combinations of education and practical experience that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
- Five (5) years of experience working with project and/or construction management teams in the use of project scheduling software applications. Cost estimating experience is a plus.
- A good understanding of construction processes, work scheduling practices, and computer scheduling programs such as Primavera, Prolog, Expedition, and MS Project (latest versions).
- Ability to present a broad range of capital project and program information and schedules through the utilization of various graphical and schematic charts.
- Possession of a valid Florida driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements
Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public through the use of the telephone and personal contact.- Physical capability involving hand-eye coordination to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
