This position supervises and participates in activities at a community or recreation center or playground.
Illustrative Examples of Essential Duties
- Directs the activities of an assigned recreation center, playground, or community center.
- Provides input regarding the planning, scheduling, organizing, and directing of City-wide recreation programs.
- Attends parent meetings.
- Assists in the scheduling of activities.
- Collects monies for various recreational functions.
- Compiles and maintains necessary records.
- Assists in planning and scheduling programs for various civic organizations.
- Organizes and participates in the staging of amateur programs.
- Sets up and takes down apparatus for activities.
- Prepares and arranges exhibits.
- Recommends necessary supplies and equipment purchases.
- Assists patrons in various tasks.
- Assists in maintaining order at functions.
- Inspects assigned areas and reports conditions needing repairs.
- Operates sound, video and lighting equipment.
- Maintains records of revenues and receipts.
- Resolves complaints and inquiries from the public.
- Instructs in various recreational activities.
- Inventories and maintains equipment and supplies.
- Solicits and collects sponsorships for athletic programming.
- Coordinates and supervises field trips.

Do you have an Associates Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or in a course of study related to the occupational field OR experience that may substitute on a year-for-year basis?
