Nature of Work
This is part-time work which directs patrons and enforces the regulations on proper use of the attractions at the City's water park and / or other aquatic facilities.
Essential Functions
Patrols and observes the area around activity pools to maintain orderly behavior and ensure appropriate use by patrons. Stands at the entrances and exits of the slides and attraction areas to ensure patron safety. Rescues patrons in distress as needed. Provides facility rules and information and answers inquiries from patrons. Performs custodial and / or janitorial tasks to maintain a clean facility area. Assists with all equipment maintenance activities. Administers standard first aid and / or CPR as needed. Performs other related duties as required. An employee in this position must have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Minimum Requirements
Must be at least 16 years old and be able to pass the Aquatic Attraction Lifeguarding Certification exam offered by the City of Miami within 30 days of appointment into the classification.
NOTE :
Employees in this classification will be required to work various shifts, to include nights, holidays and weekends. Candidates will be subject to a Level II background screening.
