What are the responsibilities and job description for the SEASONAL LIFEGUARD II, PT position at City of Miami?
Enforces regulations and protects life at a City pool. Supervises and schedules the work assignments of part-time and temporary lifeguards and/or other part-time and temporary staff as needed. May instruct and/or organize classes on water safety, life saving procedures, swimming, etc. Assists with in-service trainings for aquatics personnel.
NOTE:
Employees in this classification will be required to work various shifts, to include nights, holidays and weekends.
SPECIAL NOTE:
Candidates will be subject to a Level II background screening.

Proof of education: Copy of high school diploma or its equivalent. College degrees and/or transcripts from an US accredited institution are also acceptable. Foreign diplomas/degrees must be submitted with an evaluation report from an agency recognized by Approved Credential Evaluation Agency*. If submitting transcripts, submitted transcripts must include the following: student's name, school name, number of credits, degree completion, and major.
· Translations of degrees are not accepted as proof of education.
· Degree audits are not accepted as substitution for proof of education.
- Proof of required Valid Certificates: Copies of the following Certificates documents issued by the American Red Cross or other nationally recognized certifying agency must be uploaded and attached to the application prior to submission:
- Lifeguard Training
- First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
- Water Safety Instructor
Credential evaluation reports showing the United States equivalency for academic credentials earned in other countries may be provided by:
- An accredited four-year college or university in the United States, OR
- A current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES), OR
- A current member of the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE), OR
- A recognized Professional Organization
Toxicology: Prospective employees may be required to submit to toxicology, medical and background screening.
