The City of Miamisburg is currently hiring for the position of Police Officer- Entry level.
Entry level candidates must register with the National Testing Network National Testing Network and complete:
- Frontline National Test for Law Enforcement
- Public Safety Self-Assessment (PSSA)
- Personal History Questionnaire
PHYSICAL FITNESS TESTING
Fitness Testing can be scheduled as soon as the candidate completes application and uploads resume via City website.
A Physician’s Release is required to participate in the physical fitness test and is available when applying via the UKG portal.
Physical Fitness testing is based upon the Ohio Peace Officer Basic Training Physical Fitness Requirements. Possible fitness retest may be available, if applicant tests early and an additional test date is available. Retests are discretionary and will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
If you are currently in a police academy or have graduated from the academy within the past 6 months, we will accept your physical fitness test scores from the academy, upon sufficient documentation.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Apply on the UKG job portal. (You must submit a resume)
- Physical fitness testing can be completed once you have completed your application and submitted your resume. A completed Physician’s Release Form must be signed before you are able to take the physical fitness test. If you are currently in a police academy or have graduated from the academy within the past 6 months, we will accept your physical fitness test scores from the academy, upon sufficient documentation.
- Use this link National Testing Network to schedule and complete the Frontline National Test for Law Enforcement on National Testing Network’s site. The candidate will also need to complete the Public Safety Self-Assessment. All test results need to be sent to Miamisburg Police Department through National Testing Network.
- All testing must be complete prior to the closing date for this process.
- Complete the Personal History Questionnaire on National Testing Network’s site. BE TRUTHFUL AND THOROUGH IN YOUR ANSWERS.
- Once all forms are completed and have been reviewed, the candidate will be scheduled for an interview with the Human Resources Director and Police Department Staff.
- After an interview, the City will choose whether or not to move the candidate into the background phase, which will include a polygraph examination.
- If a conditional offer is made, after successful completion of a thorough background check, candidates will undergo a psychological assessment, a post-offer polygraph examination and an Ohio Police Pension physical with drug screen.
- A final offer is made only upon successful completion of the background investigation and post-offer assessment.
