This pivotal role encompasses oversight of multiple city functions, including public works, code enforcement, building maintenance, and complaint resolution. Key Responsibilities
Public Works Oversight
- Manage the planning, execution, and maintenance of city infrastructure projects, including streets, drainage systems, and public spaces.
- Supervise public works personnel, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for timely project completion within budget constraints.
Code Enforcement
- Oversee the enforcement of municipal codes and ordinances, addressing violations related to zoning, property maintenance, and other regulations.
- Collaborate with legal counsel and relevant departments to ensure consistent and fair application of codes.
- Develop and implement policies to enhance community compliance and awareness.
Building Maintenance Supervision
- Direct the maintenance and repair of all city-owned buildings and facilities, ensuring they meet safety and accessibility standards.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to prolong the lifespan of city assets.
- Manage facility-related budgets and procurement processes.
Complaint Resolution
- Serve as the primary point of contact for citizen complaints related to city services and infrastructure.
- Investigate issues thoroughly, coordinate with relevant departments, and ensure a timely resolution.
- Maintain records of complaints and resolutions to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Administrative and Strategic Duties
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with city goals.
- Participate in city planning initiatives, providing insights into operational feasibility and resource allocation.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies to enhance city operations and service delivery.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Associate degree or a minimum of 3 years in municipal operations or a related field in a supervisory or managerial role.
