What We're Looking For:

What You'll Do:
- Operate Heavy Equipment: Take control of compactors, bulldozers, scrapers, and other heavy machinery to dispose of refuse efficiently and safely.
- Maintain Site Access: Ensure that roads leading to the Landfill remain safe and accessible, regardless of the weather or work conditions.
- End-of-Day Refuse Coverage: Safely cover refuse each day to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Keep Equipment in Top Shape: Perform routine checks, maintain machinery, and log service issues. You’ll also carry out preventive maintenance like oil changes to keep everything running at peak performance.
- Supervise Vehicle Flow: Monitor incoming vehicles, help direct customers, and ensure that unloading is done safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with other employees and supervisors to meet daily goals and handle any issues that arise.
- Exposure to a range of environmental conditions, including seasonal weather.
- Potential exposure to hazardous fumes and odors.
- The ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting and climbing.
- Experience & Qualifications: High school diploma (or equivalent), plus at least 1-3 years of equipment operation experience. A valid Texas driver’s license is required.
- Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, work orders, and disposal regulations—whether they’re local, state, or federal.
- Physical Fitness: The role involves lifting, bending, and handling equipment or materials used in waste disposal, so physical stamina is important.
