The Marketing Specialist enhances resident and employee understanding of City objectives, issues, decisions, and challenges through public information and marketing programs and campaigns; seeking to increase resident and stakeholder engagement in City events, services and operations; writing and creating content for various media channels to communicate City events and issues; developing and managing the City website; with direction and assistance from department director, developing city-wide media relations initiatives; overseeing the production of educational videos and other multimedia content. The incumbent works with the Economic Development Director on business outreach and retention activities, visiting and interviewing businesses within the City limits and providing education on City resources and processes.
High school graduate or equivalent. Employee must possess a valid Oklahoma driver license and be insurable. Proficiency with software and online tools such as Canva, Adobe Tools, Microsoft Suite, and Constant Contact. Broad knowledge of such fields as graphic design, marketing, journalism, photography, etc. Associate's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, event management, business administration, hospitality administration, or related field is preferred. One year of direct related and progressively responsible work experience in the social media management, marketing, journalism, tourism, or hospitality industries may substitute for the degree preference. Starting salary range: $21.8261-$24.4702/HR. w/benefits.
