POLICE OFFICER - CITY OF MILFORD, OHIO
The Milford Police Department is accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for police officers. Candidates that are currently employed as a full-time peace officer are not required to take the written exam and will submit applications (available at www.milfordohio.org) to Police Clerk Tina Kern at tkern@milfordohio.org or delivered to the Milford Police Department before 4 : 30 on February 28, 2025. Applicants who are not currently employed as a full-time peace officer must complete the PHQ application and take the entrance examination at a National Testing Network location by midnight on February 28, 2025. Applicants must be 21 years of age and certified as a peace officer by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy. Applicants must also be a legal U.S. citizen with a valid driver’s license and will be required to pass a complete background investigation, physical fitness, medical and psychological examination, including a drug and alcohol screen.
Applicants who receive a passing grade on the written examination will receive additional credit for the following :
- 10% for military veterans with an honorable discharge.
- 5% for having earned a bachelor’s degree.
- 5% for those who currently serve as reserve / auxiliary police officer for the City of Milford.
