Contribute to innovative planning policies, vibrant economic strategies, and the beautification of open spaces, paving the way for a dynamic and flourishing future.To learn more about us, please visit our website by clicking here.About the OpportunityWe have exciting opportunities for full-time Plant Senior Maintenance Workers to join our team in Millbrae, San Mateo County.In these positions, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and upkeep of the water pollution control plant, wastewater treatment systems, and associated equipment.Reporting to supervisory or management staff, the Plant Senior Maintenance Worker will be responsible for leading maintenance efforts, performing preventative repairs, and overseeing equipment upkeep to support plant operations.Your responsibilities include but are not limited to : Leading and performing maintenance and repair of pumps, motors, plumbing, and electrical systemsRecording and maintaining accurate maintenance records in a daily logbookOrdering supplies and managing inventory of frequently used parts, oil, and filtersCompleting monthly work orders and entering information into the systemGenerating new maintenance work orders and prioritizing tasks for plant equipmentLeading and performing plant cleanup, including removing trash and clearing storm drainsTo read the full position description, please click here.More About YouPlant Senior Maintenance WorkerEducation : Graduation from high school or equivalent (GED), with technical training in water treatment plant systems or a related field is desirable.Experience : 4 years of full-time experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of pollution control plant and sewage pumping facilities, with at least 1 year of equivalent experience to a Treatment Plant Maintenance Worker II.Licenses : Possession of a valid California Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record. Must possess a CWEA Certification as a Grade II Mechanical Technologist and a Grade II Electrical / Instrumentation Certificate issued by the California Water Environment Association.Special Requirements : Ability to respond to work at any hour of the day or night, including weekends, holidays, and plant emergencies. Vision, hearing, and physical ability adequate to obtain and maintain a California Class B Driver’s License. Physical capability to perform hands-on tasks, including lifting up to 100 pounds, working at heights, and navigating plant facilities.Knowledge of pumps, motors, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems used in wastewater treatment operationsExperience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repairs in an industrial or plant settingAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and operational guidelinesFamiliarity with SCADA systems and data tracking for plant operationsStrong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance in wastewater treatment operationsAs our ideal candidates, you will possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and adaptability to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of the treatment plant and its equipment.
