The Parking Enforcement Officer administers all parking and abandoned vehicle regulations, facilitates vehicle turnover to create access, and provides accurate parking-related information and customer service to the public.
Essential Functions
PARKING ENFORCEMENT AND PATROL
- Enforce parking regulations through the identification of illegally parked and abandoned vehicles; provide customer education and coaching, issue citations, relocate vehicles, and initiate towing operations.
- Patrol assigned areas by vehicle or on foot to ensure compliance with existing parking ordinances; create patrol strategies of assigned areas to maximize safety and efficiency using the Global Positioning System (GPS) or other locational systems.
- Enter and retrieve data pertaining to vehicle registration, identification, location, and status using a hand-held computer, cell phone, and related applications, License Plate Recognition System (LPR), two-way radio, and / or laptop.
- Create and maintain complete and accurate records, including digital and handwritten notes and photographs, for all citations, warnings, and vehicle tows and relocations.

Current Salary
The current starting salary (Pay Range 5DN) is $49,184 annually ($23.64 hourly) , and the City of Milwaukee resident incentive starting salary is $50,659 annually ($24.36 hourly) . Appointment will be made in accordance with the City of Milwaukee Salary Ordinance.

Selection Process
THE SELECTION PROCESS will be job related and will consist of one or more of the following : an evaluation of education, experience and / or responses to supplemental questions, a written or performance test, a structured interview, or other assessment methods.
