Perform semi skilled work in the minor maintenance and servicing of automotive, maintenance and construction equipment and operate mobile service vehicles and trucks.Work Location: This position currently works on-site only. Possibility of alternating between the following facilities: Currie Maintenance Facility, 1200 Currie Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN 55403Royalston Maintenance Facility, 661 - 5th Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN 55405 Shift Differential: In addition to base pay we offer shift differential equal to $1.652/hr for evening and weekend shifts.The City of Minneapolis does not sponsor applicants for work visas.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Change all fluids and filters on vehicles, including filling master cylinder and lubricating.• Check, change and repair tires on vehicles. Change and/or charge batteries.• Wash and clean cars, trucks and construction equipment, including sand blasting and steam cleaning parts.• Install and remove snow plows and other equipment.• Maintain, repair and clean shop equipment.• Assist automotive mechanics with testing and repair of equipment.• Drive snow plows and/or equipment when needed.Working Conditions: Exposure to exhaust fumes, oil, grease, chemicals, dirt and noise.
- Knowledge of minor repair and servicing of automotive equipment.• Knowledge of sand blasting equipment, steam cleaning equipment, and tools of the trade. • Good mechanical aptitude along with the ability to do heavy lifting.• Ability to make repairs in the field, replace batteries, tires, etc. • Ability to maintain records and related data.
