What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Aide position at City of Minneola?
Responsibilities:
Communicates regularly with the general public and responds to customer questions, requests, complaints, and suggestions.
Assists in the planning, scheduling instruction, and organization of recreation programs, activities, events, and services.
Assist in the planning and implementation of a daily program that will meet the needs of the children in attendance; set up program, project, and activity areas as needed.
Notifies appropriate staff of any incident or accident and completes the required documentation associated with each concern.
Monitors and reports unauthorized persons along with other safety and security concerns.
Ensures the health, safety, and well-being of children in the program by providing close supervision of all activities for students.
Maintains order, discipline, and safety.
Participate in cleaning and maintaining the facilities and equipment.
Participate in the work of setting up and breaking down meeting rooms and facilities for functions.
May also perform custodial work such as required and assigned, including changing light bulbs, sweeping floors, vacuuming carpets, dumping garbage and reline cans with liners, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and replenishing, cleaning spills, etc.
Follows safe working practices and has a working knowledge of safety practices and procedures in accordance with the City’s Safety Program.
May be required to work extended hours, especially during emergencies and natural disasters.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience in working with children is preferred.
Must be at least 16 years old.
Ability to work in the morning and/or afternoons.
Must have a working knowledge of computers.
Valid Florida Driver’s License.
Must reside within twenty-five (25) miles of Minneola’s city limits.
