What are the responsibilities and job description for the Park Maintenance - Seasonal position at City of Minnetonka?
Seasonal park maintenance employee to perform unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance work at the city's parks, facilities and athletic fields. Work hours are 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. 40 hours per week. Athletic fields position requires individuals to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
This seasonal position is eligible for a $.50 / $1.00 per hour bonus program. Bonus amounts are based off of the number of hours worked while in the seasonal role. Full bonus criteria and eligibility details will be provided to all finalists.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with landscaping duties including mowing, weed-whipping, irrigation system repairs and horticultural work, including planting, watering and trimming trees and shrubs, pulling weeds and mulching.
- Assist with maintenance of existing city trails.
- Assist with maintenance of existing and installation of new park equipment (benches, tables, signs, fences, playground apparatus, etc.)
- Pick up litter and debris from grounds and parking lots.
- Empty trash containers.
- Athletic field duties include mowing, weed whipping, prepping fields for games and monitoring of Big Willow complex during games.
Other Job Functions:
- Assist with general maintenance on equipment, including: refueling, changing oil, lubricating parts, making minor adjustments, as necessary.
- Operate a variety of power and hand tools, weed whips, shovels, lute rakes, mowers, and other equipment.
- Assist in maintaining other recreational facilities.
- Assist other work divisions and departments when assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 17 years of age.
- Valid driver's license.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

- Operation, maintenance, and repair of light equipment.
