The City of Minot is accepting applications for the position of a Civil Engineering Summer Intern in the Engineering Department. This is a full time, non-civil service position. Salary for this position will be $18.00 per hour. This will remain Open until Filled.
Nature of Work
- The Civil Engineering Intern will provide field construction inspection for City of Minot Maintenance projects which may include roadway reconstruction, mill & overlay, patching, chip seal, and related work.
Essential Functions of Work
- Measure and calculate construction quantities
- Read and interpret plans and specifications
- Project inspection to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
- Prepare accurate records, reports, and project files
Education, Experience, Other Requirements
- Applicants need to be at least 18 years of age
- Posses a valid Driver License (with acceptable driving record)
- Must be able to follow prescribed safety standards on the job
- Able to work extended periods of time in outdoor conditions
- Above average math and communication skills
Compensation
- Starting hourly wage of $18.00 per hour
- This is a Full Time, FLSA nonexempt, non-civil service position with no benefits provided.
