LIBRARY & CULTURAL SERVICES SUPERVISOR
$35.48 - $50.98 per hour

The City of Mission Viejo is seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our team as a Supervisor in the Cultural Services Division of the Library & Cultural Services Department. This is a “hands-on” working supervisor position that will be responsible for all aspects of cultural arts development, planning, and special event activities.
Currently, there is one (1) full-time vacancy in the Library & Cultural Services Department assigned to the Potocki Center for the Arts. This position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The schedule may vary depending on the needs of the City including evenings and weekends as needed for programs. This is an FLSA exempt position and is not entitled to overtime.
The eligibility list established during this recruitment may be used to fill future full-time, part-time or temporary Library & Cultural Services Supervisor vacancies at the following locations: Mission Viejo Library and/or the Potocki Center for the Arts.
SEARCH SCHEDULE: The first round of Zoom interviews is tentatively scheduled for some time during the week of March 24, 2024. Only one date will be available for an applicant to attend. Your impact as Library & Cultural Services Supervisor
- Provides building coverage for the Potocki Center for the Arts as needed.
- Plans, supervises, coordinates, reviews, evaluates, and makes recommendations pertaining to cultural arts programs and related activities at one or multiple sites.
- Researches and updates current cultural and heritage program resources and interests within the community.
- Serves as staff liaison, prepares agenda and minutes, and attends all meetings of the Cultural Arts Committee.
- Books and contracts with artists for performing, visual and literary arts and is responsible to provide technical assistance with programs.
- Coordinates, manages, and monitors the resources, programs and activities, and budget required for significant cultural City events.
- Designs and implements programs and services that further the Cultural Arts Master Plan.
- Prepares and executes program publicity, including web site content, news releases, blog items, programs, and signage.
- Provides input into budget request and administers program budgets after adoption; may prepare and assist in the administration of various grants.
- Administers, monitors, and mediates contractual agreements with various service providers.
