The City of Monroe City Missouri is looking to hire a full-time Journeyman Lineman to assist with building, maintaining, and repairs of our electrical power systems, including overhead and underground lines, poles, and equipment. They also restore power to customers in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Salary: Pay Ranges from $29.00 - $34.00 Schedule: M-F 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Journeyman Lineman minimum requirements:
- Must be at least 25 years of age
- HS Diploma/GED and Certificate or diploma from an accredited trade school, vocational school, or military equivalent.
- Journeyman Electrician certification is required
- Ability and willingness to work weekends, including overtime
- Must possess a valid Missouri State CDL with air brake, driver's license.
- Ability to work at heights, including climbing poles.
- Ability to lift heavy materials.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, trenches, and vaults.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment, including aerial and excavation equipment.
- Ability to perform strenuous tasks in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Journeyman lineman is an advanced position, requiring several years of experiences.
- Will require passing background check, drug and alcohol screenings
Responsibilities
- Constructions: Set poles, frame poles, and construct guy wires
- Maintenance: Repair and maintain overhead and underground power lines, transformers, and insulators
- Installation: Install new equipment, including pad-mounted equipment, and outdoor lighting
- Troubleshooting: Identify and fix problems with electric equipment and circuits
- Safety: Maintain safety requirements, and perform work safely around high voltages
- Supervision: Lead apprentices and groundmen
Location-Specific Requirements:
Must be able to respond to on-call or emergency calls within 30 minutes. Residence within the City of Monroe City is preferred. To be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a US citizen.
