This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for depth perception, color perception, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, use of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts at or within arm's length, operation of machines, operation of motor vehicles or equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and oils.
Maintaining and repairing the golf course, driving range, country club grounds, equipment and facilities. Performs a variety of maintenance tasks including preparing, renovating and maintaining greens, tees, fairways, rough, facility grounds, repairing irrigation system, repairing machinery and equipment, collecting leaves, chipping tree limbs and brush, mowing grass, planting trees, shrubs and flowers, removing stumps and maintaining buildings. Removes trash from facilities and maintains surrounding grounds. Trims and plants trees, shrubs and flowers. Mows grass, weed-eats and related groundskeeping tasks; picks up leaves. Fertilizes and seeds golf course; trims and cuts limbs. Moves pins and tees; rakes sand traps. Sets up for and breaks down after special events. Fuels golf carts. Maintains golf course irrigation system. Performs related tasks as required.
General knowledge of maintenance methods and practices; general knowledge of grass maintenance techniques; ability to understand and follow specific oral instructions; ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions; ability to operate tools and equipment safely; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and moderate experience in the performance of grounds maintenance and repair work.May require Pesticide Applicator's License depending on assignment.
Possession of an appropriate driver's license valid in the State of North Carolina.
