What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Works Seasonal position at City of Monroe (WA)?
The City of Monroe is currently recruiting for Seasonals for the Public Works Department. These positions will last for approximately 4 months. These positions function as a productive team members, performing basic maintenance of City stormwater, drinking water, sanitary sewer and transportation systems as well as City facilities and fleet.
This position is open continuously, but the first review date will be 04/03/2025.
- Maintain City infrastructure including streets, water system appurtenances, sanitary sewers, stormwater installations, facilities and City right of way.
- Operate power driven machinery, such as jack-hammers, tampers, brush maintenance machinery and other similar equipment.
- Move debris, dirt or other material from one place to another.
- Maintain grounds and facilities on right-of-ways, stormwater drainage infrastructures, and city property.
- Repair asphalt and concrete surfaces.
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing of equipment.
- Set up and pick up barricades, lane cones and warning signs to channel traffic around work crews, emergencies and accidents.
- Maintain traffic control devices and pavement markings.
- Assist with water meter related tasks using various methods.
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Maintain regular, reliable and punctual attendance.
- Perform other duties as directed.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Interest in working outdoors in the maintenance or construction trades.
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
Salary : $22 - $26
