This position performs the general office functions for the Water and Wastewater Departments including bookkeeping, secretarial, clerical, and public reception tasks which may include information of a confidential nature.

- Assists with the preparation of the quarterly billing statements:
- Water – bringing in the meter readings and exporting to the billing software, reviewing and correcting errors, uploading bills to the printer and to the online payment provider.
- Wastewater – prepares, reviews, and approves quarterly sewer billing statements to industrial customers. Collects, compiles, verifies and disseminates data from industrial operations, discharge monitoring and lab reports to calculate bills.
- Enters work orders for meter changes in the billing software and the meter software.
- Compiles and maintains inventory records for both utilities.
- Maintains Safety Data Sheets (SDS), chemical info books and filing of records.
- Assists with the preparation of partial and final utility bills.
- Enters customer information for new water and sewer service.
- Responds to requests for service shut off or activation and notifies water and sewer operators.
- Provides customer service utilizing the leak detection report.
- Performs a variety of customer service tasks, answers multiple phone lines.
- Customer inquiries on utility billings and meter readings, composes routine correspondence, forms, reports, and memos. Maintains information in spreadsheets, databases, and reports.
- Assists with e-waste, prepare out-going mail and parcels, deliver lab samples and other items.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in Office Management or equivalent field preferred.
- Vocational/technical training in bookkeeping, computer word processing and spreadsheets preferred.

- This work involves occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds within a limited range for access to storage boxes; work regularly requiring sitting, frequently requires standing, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions.
