What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal - Day Camp/Playground Aide position at City of Monroe?
The Summer School Afternoon Club Aide is responsible for providing supervision of the Monroe Park and Recreation Department's day camp. You will participate and lead activities, which include arts and crafts, playing games, swimming at the outdoor pool and going on field trips.
The Playground Aide is responsible for providing supervision of the Playground programs, including Tot lot, Adventure Club, Sports of Sorts and Community Connections!

- Participate in pre-season staff orientation/training program.
- Help lead safe and diversified playground programs by playing games, swimming at the outdoor pool, arts and crafts, and going on field trips.
- Provide a safe environment for the children.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the facility, including walkways, restrooms and parking lot.
- Provide direct leadership in specialty activities and assist with activities as needed.
- Follow all department policies and procedures.
- June Day Camp Hours: June 9th - July 11th
- June 9th - 13th 7:30am-5pm
- June 16th - July 11th Mon-Thurs. - 11:45am-5:00pm & Fridays 7:30am-5pm
- July Day Camp Hours: July 14 - August 15 7:30am-5:00pm
- Community Connections Hours: June 9 - July 23 5:30pm-6:30pm (Mon/Wed)
- Recommended minimum age of 16.
- Prior experience working with elementary age children and children's programs beneficial but not required.
- Strong leadership, supervisory and organization skills.
- Ability to think creatively and complete arts & crafts projects.
- Enjoy working with children of all ages.
- Ability to communicate, be courteous and cooperate with other staff members and the public.
- Must pass a drug test after being offered the position.
