What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal - Summer Tot Lot and Adventure Club Playground Lead position at City of Monroe?
The Playground Lead position is responsible for providing supervision for the Monroe Parks and Recreation Department's playground programs. You will help supervise & participate in activities with the children at the playground. Activities include arts and crafts, games, and singing songs, story time, swimming with the children at the outdoor pool and playing with the children during free time. This position is responsible for planning and implementing the Tot Lot program for children ages 3-5, Adventure Club for children in grades K-5, Sports of Sorts program for children ages 3-5, the 4th of July Carnival, and the Community Connections program for children and adults with special needs.
- Participate in pre-season staff orientation/training program.
- Create daily acitivities and schedules for the following programs
- Tot Lot
- Adventure Club
- Community Connections
- Sports of Sorts
- One Day programs
- Plan and supervise the 4th of July Carnival
- Help lead a safe and diversified playground programs by playing games, swimming at the outdoor pool, arts and crafts and going on field trips.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the facility, including walkways, restrooms & parking lot.
- Provide direct leadership in specialty activities and assist with activities as needed.
- Follow all department policies and procedures.
- Provide a safe environment for the children.
- Anyone with a college degree would have a starting wage of $17.50/hr
- Without a degree, the starting wage is $12/hr
- Recommended minimum age of 18 .

- Availability to work full days (9am-11:45am, 12:30pm-6:30pm Monday-Thursday, 9am-11:45am Fridays) starting June 9th
- Must pass a drug test after being offered the position.
