Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

Nature of Work
The fundamental reason this classification exists is to assist the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts’(MMFA) curatorial and collections staff with projects, research, and planning. The Curatorial Assistant will collaborate with the MMFA divisions to conduct art historical research and manage projects and exhibitions. The Curatorial Assistant will participate in the administration and management of major exhibitions and will curate smaller exhibitions derived from the Museum’s permanent collection. The work responsibilities are: conducts MMFA project and exhibition research; conducts research into objects requested for loan for temporary exhibitions; maintains checklists of exhibitions; manages requests for rights and reproductions for collections objects; curates collections-based exhibitions; and performs administrative duties. The employee will report to a Museum Curator III.
