Salary Information
Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.
**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**
Nature of Work
The fundamental reason this classification exists is to manage the daily operations of Districts One, Two or Three of the Parks and Recreation Division. The work responsibilities of the position are: allocates and assigns district resources; supervises and inspects the work of Daily and Special project crews; assists the Parks Division Superintendent in planning the annual budget; and assigns specialized workers to other districts. All District Park Supervisors maintain parks in their assigned district but are also assigned specialty tasks divided across the three districts personnel. District One handles all welding, carpentry and painting tasks of park buildings and equipment. District Two handles all special event set ups. District Three manages all landscaping for the city. The District Parks Maintenance Supervisors report to the Parks Division Superintendent.
Minimum Qualifications
(District II) High school diploma or G.E.D. Must have three (3) years’ experience in the supervision of multiple work crews involved in park maintenance including setting up for special city events.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Kind of Examination

City of Montgomery Parks and Recreation Department in District II. Applicants will be screened and qualified based upon education and experience as shown on the application and supplemental questionnaire. For this reason, applicants are urged to fill in the application form and supplemental questionnaire completely providing detailed information concerning the kinds of jobs they have held, the dates they held them, where and exactly what their duties were. If more than five qualified applications are received, a selection device will be used to rank applicants on the register. Tied scores will not be broken. If there are five or less qualified applicants, they will be considered equally qualified and placed on the register in alphabetical order.
