What are the responsibilities and job description for the Neighborhood Resources Specialist position at City of Montgomery, AL?
Nature of Work
The fundamental reason that this classification exists is to plan, develop and organize neighborhood associations in community self-help activities. The Specialist works to promote citizen involvement in neighborhood issues and serves as a liaison between the City, nonprofit agencies, private companies, and citizen and neighborhood groups. The major responsibilities for this classification include administering and monitoring grant projects/contracts, networking, developing events and programs, developing and providing resources for neighborhoods, and performing related plan implementation and administrative tasks. The classification reports to the Director of Community Development or the Director of Neighborhood Services.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in planning, public administration, or a related field and two years of experience in planning, developing, and organizing community and/or neighborhood based organizations.
NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
