Nature of Work
The fundamental reason this classificationexists is to perform professional grant writing, donor relations, and fundraisingwork for the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts. The work responsibilities include overseeinggrant programs; managing the donor relations program, developing and coordinatingfundraising programs and major events; supervising the Development Assistant; andperforming departmental administrativeduties.The MuseumDevelopment Officer is expected to exercise initiative and independent judgmentto support the objectives of the MMFA with a strong emphasis on securing andmanaging grants.This role reports toand operates under the general supervision and evaluation of the DevelopmentDirector.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in businessadministration, marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, orother liberal arts field and one (1) year of professional experience in grantwriting, fundraising, marketing, or a closely related field. Preference will be given to those applicants withexperience in a museum setting and those with a strong grant writing background.
NOTE : Qualifying education, training, andexperience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities toperform the job will be considered.
