Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.

Nature of Work
Thefundamental reason this position exists is to receive emergency andnon-emergency telephone calls from the public to the Montgomery EmergencyCommunications Center (ECC) using a highly specialized computer telephonysystem and software application and enter data received into a computerizeddispatch system to assist dispatcher(s) with emergency response. The work responsibilities include processingemergencies; initiating and performing Emergency Medical Dispatch; query, enterand receive critical law enforcement information using local, state andnational level database systems and performing departmentadministrative / clerical duties. Public Safety Communications Operators report directly to a Public Safety Communications Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicantsmust have a high school diploma or GED. NOTE : Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.
Special Requirements
Applicant must pass the CritiCall exam, including thekeystrokes per hour requirement. As a condition of continued employment,you must pass a background check and drug test. Must be willing to respond tothe Emergency Communications Center when requested for man-made and naturaldisasters that could include working irregular hours, weekends, holidays andevenings. Employee must obtain and maintaincertification for APCO Emergency Medical Dispatcher and NCIC.Must be 18 years old.
Kind of Examination
