The City of Monticello, Illinois is seeking two laborers for the Public Works Department. Under general supervision, performs a variety of maintenance work and operates equipment in construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of municipal water, sewer, streets, lighting, storm drainage facilities, and other appurtenances within public right of way or property.
Responsibilities include assisting with all phases of Public Works operations, such as water treatment plant and distribution system, waste water treatment plant and collection system, drainage maintenance, and street and sidewalk maintenance and repair.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public works field
- Valid Illinois driver's license with CDL-Class B and Air Brake endorsement
- Ability to pass post-offer employment physical and drug screening
Preferred qualifications include working knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods, and procedures used in municipal maintenance and repair activities.

Compensation
