What are the responsibilities and job description for the Engineering/Wastewater Seasonal position at City of Moorhead?
The City of Moorhead is accepting applications for seasonal part-time and full-time temporary positions in the Engineering and Wastewater Treatment Departments.
Laboratory Assistant Temp ($16.00 to $18.00)
Work at the Wastewater Treatment Facility and assist with laboratory analysis and environmental sampling essential to maintaining environmental compliance, and assists with facility operations, troubleshooting, and maintaining records. General knowledge of wastewater treatment, laboratory analysis, and sampling desired and/or currently studying chemistry, biology, environmental, and related sciences. Age 18 or older. Valid Driver's License required. Hours are 7:00 am to 4:30 pm (Monday through Thursday) and 7 am to 11:00 am (Friday) with flexibility in the number of hours worked
Stormwater Maintenance Laborer ($14.50 to $16.50)
Performs routine/preventive maintenance on stormwater systems, primarily those involving ditch maintenance, mowing, and trim mowing; grounds maintenance for wastewater treatment, wastewater collection, and stormwater systems; assist in performing preventive and corrective maintenance for wastewater treatment, wastewater collection, and stormwater collection systems. Must be at least 18 years old and have valid driver's license.
Seasonal Engineering Technician ($19.00 to $21.00)
Qualified individuals who shall assist in the oversight of public works projects, assist in construction staking, perform a detailed collection of pertinent data as it relates to the installation of and placement of construction related items with an understanding of the means and methods of Civil Engineering construction projects for the City of Moorhead to ensure compliance with city standards and specifications. The position will read and interpret construction plans, inspect construction projects to determine compliance with the plans and specifications, interpret and apply specifications, organize and record data, assist or perform survey construction staking with the use of Trimble GPS or Total Station. Experience in Civil Engineering construction projects, education in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management is required. Experience with Trimble GPS or Total Station is also preferred but not required.
