HIRING RANGE: $32.55 to $33.90 ($67,703 to $70,512)
Salary Range: $67,703 to $95,950

The IT Specialist requires comprehensive knowledge of the operation, uses and capabilities of computer hardware, operating systems, software and related equipment; general knowledge of computer networking; comprehensive skill at problem analysis and resolution; ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions; ability to write clear and concise documentation and reports; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, consultants, vendors, department heads and associates.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS
The IT Specialist work requires the occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires walking and occasionally requires standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts within arms length, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires working in high, precarious places, exposure to outdoor weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electrical shock; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).

- Provides training and technical support in the operation of computers, operating systems, software, copiers, fax machines, telephones, mobile devices, printers and related equipment.
- Installs, maintains, upgrades and documents computer hardware, operating systems, software, telephones, mobile devices, printers and related equipment.
- Conducts basic maintenance and diagnosis of computer network and telephone infrastructure and associated hardware and software.
- Diagnoses, researches, tracks and resolves issues with computer hardware, operating systems, software, telephones, mobile devices, printers and related equipment.
- Monitors and maintains network security, malware protection and software updates.
- Writes documentation, training materials and scripts.
- Evaluates and recommends purchase of hardware, software, communications and related items.
- Manages inventory of PC's, software, printers, telephones, mobile devices and related equipment.
- Performs other duties as requested.
- Attendance at off-site courses/trainings/seminars may be required.

- Associates/Technical degree in computer science, or related field
- One year computer support experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Comply with CJIS policy requirements, background checks and security testing and ongoing compliance
