General Responsibilities
The duties of the employee holding this position assist the City Gardener with planning, planting, watering, weeding, and maintaining the City’s garden beds, trees, and flower containers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintain existing flower gardens and develop new garden sites.
· Lawn care, tree care, and general landscaping.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Experience operating lawn equipment, small power and manual tools as necessary.
· High School diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent experience.
· Ability to pass pre-employment background check.
Preferred Training and Experience:
· University of Minnesota Master Gardener Certification
Essential Physical Requirements:
The physical demands are those encountered while performing the listed essential functions.
· Employees in this position are required to perform various duties involving moderate physical strength.
· Climb up and down ladders.
· Bend and twist while performing maintenance duties.
· Lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
· Traverse rough terrain.
· Ability to perform job responsibilities in normal to adverse climatic conditions.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
