SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the general oversight of the Deputy Registrar.
SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:
None.
EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION:
Works primarily from an office in City Hall. Equipment used includes but is not limited to computer, printer, fax, calculator, postage meter and copy machines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Provides excellent customer service for the Motor Vehicle Department by greeting guests in a professional, courteous and friendly manner, and by maintaining visibility and being tactful and polite at all times.
- Evaluate, prepare, and processes motor vehicle titles and registration applications to determine fees to be collected.
- Analyze and process Driver’s License and Minnesota ID card applications.
- Evaluates, prepares, and processes Department of Natural Resources (DNR) recreational vehicle titles and registrations.
- Demonstrates keen understanding of system and accurately processes all functions in MNDRIVE.
- Responds to public inquiries and requests for information in person and by telephone.
- Reconciles and completes motor vehicle, drivers license, and DNR reports to state departments.
- Calculates fees and receipts monies related to transactions & balances cash drawer on daily basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two (2) years related work experience in high volume costumer service position
- Excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to prove US Citizenship and be able to pass background check
- Intermediate skills in computers including Microsoft Office and email
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of Minnesota Motor Vehicle rules and regulations, statutes and rules pertaining to issuance of driver’s license, vehicle titles and registration, and DNR
- Ability to interpret and understand legal terminology
- Experience in balancing cash drawers, completing daily reporting
- Experience in MNDRIVE
