Job Summary: The City of Morgan’s Point Resort, Texas, (a lakeside community) is seeking a dynamic and organized Public Relations and Administrative Specialist to join our team to effectively manage communication strategics, enhancing the City’s public image, and providing essential administrative support. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills, strong organizational skills, and a passion for fostering relationships among stakeholders.
Example of Public Relations Duties include but are not limited to:
· Developing and implementing effective public relations strategies to enhance the organization's visibility and reputation.
· Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other promotional materials.
· Manage the City’s website and social media accounts and engage with online communities to foster positive relationships between the community and the City.
· Coordinate and facilitate public events, including Council meetings, press conferences, community outreach programs, and promotional activities.
· Monitor media coverage and prepare reports related to public relations activities and their effectiveness.
· Facilitate video production, podcasting, live streaming, and social media integration.
· Other duties as assigned.
Examples of Administrative Duties include but are not limited to:
· Provide administrative support to senior management, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing travel arrangements.
· Prepare and maintain documents, reports, and presentations for internal and external communications.
· Handle incoming communications, including phone calls and emails, ensuring timely and professional responses.
· Assist in creating and managing budgets, invoices, and financial records related to the activities of the City.
· Create, maintain and organize files and records, both physical and digital, ensuring easy access and confidentiality.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Preferred):
· Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
· Two years of experience in a local government setting.
· Proven experience in public relations, communications, or administrative roles.
· Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills.
· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
· Proficiency in social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
· Familiarity with media relations and community engagement strategies is a plus.

· Licenses Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Working conditions:
· This position may require occasional evening or weekend work for meetings and events.
· In-office work but occasional remote and/or flexible scheduling should be expected.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:
Work is routinely performed in a standard office environment subject to sitting, standing, bending, and reaching for extended periods of time; and must be able to pull, push, lift, and carry items weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
