Ever wondered how the inner workings of a fantastic swimming pool work? Join us for the summer as an Aquatics Maintenance Worker to learn all about the Hamilton Lowe Aquatics Center! You'll assist with pool maintenance duties; including chemical testing and dosing, maintaining vegetation and landscaped areas, and performing routine maintenance in and around the Hamilton Lowe Aquatic Center.
This position is from May-August with daily hours from 5 a.m.-1:30 p.m. M-F.
Basic Function
Under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor or a Full Time Parks/Facilities Maintenance Worker, assist pool maintenance duties; including chemical testing and dosing, maintaining vegetation and landscaped areas, and performing routine maintenance in and around the Hamilton Lowe Aquatic Center.
Distinguishing Characteristics
The Seasonal Parks Aquatics Maintenance Worker is a seasonal position and performs the full range of maintenance duties in the assigned activity and may operate a full range of equipment utilized in the trade after proper training.
Essential Functions

- The incumbent shall work well under pressure, meeting multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.
- The incumbent shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
- Perform routine chemical testing and dosing.
- Perform routine janitorial duties.
- Perform a variety of general grounds keeping duties including raking, weeding, trimming trees, and pruning hedges and shrubs.
- After proper training, operate a variety of grounds maintenance equipment and tools including, mowers, trimmers, small hand and power tools and trucks of various sizes.
- Assist in minor and preventive maintenance and repair work on equipment and facilities including painting, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Perform all of other duties as assigned within the Parks and Facilities Divisions.
