What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stormwater Operator - Seasonal position at City of Moscow?
This position will work 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday through Friday for the construction season which is typically April through October.
Duties to perform include: Construction, maintenance, Inspection and repair of City catch basins, manholes, ditches, storm mains and detention systems. Duties also include assisting in the operation of a variety of heavy and light equipment used in stormwater maintenance and asset tracking and mapping including a hydro excavation truck, CCTV inspection equipment, backhoes and an assortment of hand tools.

· Performs repair and maintenance activities of the stormwater system to ensure safe, effective operations in accordance with all applicable rules and regulations.
· Respond to Public Works Emergencies after hours when required. Respond to flood emergencies to reduce property damage, injury or loss of life to the public.
· Monitor stock levels of repair and maintenance parts and supplies to maintain required quantities. Reorder materials as required. Perform yard maintenance, maintain assigned equipment, and maintain material stockpiles.
· Assist the City Environmental Services Group in Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination into the MS4.
· Assist with public education for the MS4.
· Assist the City GIS Department with asset tracking of stormwater system mapping and data.
· Maintain the stormwater infrastructure. Build, clean and repair catch basins and manholes; clean ditches; build and repair storm lines; build head walls for storm lines. Maintain detention systems. Assist with flood control efforts. Inspect creeks for possible obstructions.
· Perform utility locates for stormwater infrastructure when required.
· Assist in sweeping of City streets, parking lots, and alleys.
· Under direct supervision of a Traffic Control Technician, install traffic control for work zones and special events.
