Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Resides on site during season and performs a variety of tasks to manage day to day operations of the Cascade Park Campground for the City of Moses Lake Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- During season, maintains an on-site presence of the campground providing general campground supervision and coordination with campers.
- Greets and admits campers, collects fees and validates camping reservations.
- Enforces campground rules and regulations.
- Handles and resolves guest complaints and issues promptly.
- Ensures the safety and security of all guests and their property.
- Performs bank deposits and written reconciliation forms.
- Communicates with office staff regarding reservations and activities.
- Performs daily maintenance tasks such as cleaning campsites, restrooms, and public areas.
- Additional related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR certifications are a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possesses excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle conflicts and resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to perform basic handyman skills for minor repair and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Park Maintenance Superintendent or their delegate assigns work in terms of somewhat general instructions. The Park Maintenance Superintendent or Park Maintenance Foreman or their delegate may provide assignments or training, and spot check completed work for compliance with instructions and established procedures and results.
GUIDELINES
- Guidelines include City and department policies and procedures. These guidelines are generally clear and specific but may require some interpretations.
- Wear approved and proper work attire to follow safe working procedures and guidelines.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
Performs a variety of skilled and unskilled tasks in campground operation and maintenance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be physically able to lift 10 lbs.
- Must be physically able to work periodically on your feet.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
None.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Washington State Driver's License with no restrictions.
- Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or related field is a plus.

This position is eligible for retirement through the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems. This position does not receive any city-sponsored benefits but does receive state-mandated sick leave.
