What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Firefighter position at City of Mount Airy?
The City of Mount Airy is accepting applications for a Part-time Firefighter. Duties will consist of the performance of skilled firefighting and rescue work while responding to fire alarms while on duty and off when available (must run a minimum of 35 calls per calendar year). Part-time Firefighters are also required to attend a minimum of 9 training sessions per calendar year, and must be able to obtain and maintain Level II Firefighter certification within 24 months of hire; must be able to obtain and maintain EMT Basic Technician certification within 24 months of hire, and Emergency Vehicle Driver certification within 12 months of hire. This position requires an employee to work under stressful emergency conditions. Bilingual is a plus. Resumes will be accepted, but will not be taken in the place of a City application. This position starts at $12.77/hour.
